I have watched him work
His hand trembles
Like one that seeks perfection
Fingers tightly gripping his brush
Clearing the blemish
Curving the corners
He tends to his craft like fragility is it’s middle name
Like his life was knit in this jar of clay

With a mirror before him
He replicates the image
Fearfully he moulds this wonderful piece of art
Plucks out all insecurity
Erases all uncertainty
Error has no room
-It can only stare through the window
    !!See but don’t touch!!!
He shields her in his cage
Free from darts that fly about
The very darts that seek to distort her true image
As he works he whispers
“You are beautiful”
He sings a song of praise over his creation
Eyes swimming in satisfaction
Lips provoking ululation
He is pleased
Because he just birthed a master piece.
